Sameday has reached a new operational milestone, achieving a daily processing capacity of one million parcels, as it ramps up logistics capabilities ahead of what is expected to be a record Black Friday season.
The company now operates through three major hubs, in Bucharest, Sibiu, and Brașov, supported by an expanded and modernized logistics network nationwide. In recent months, Sameday has opened five new logistics centers and a specialized facility for oversized parcels near its main hub in Rudeni, Ilfov County.
Easybox network grows fast
Sameday’s easybox locker network has grown by more than 20% in 2025, now totaling over 5,800 active units across more than 800 localities in Romania. On average, there is one Sameday locker for every 3,500 residents, and the average walking distance to a locker is six minutes nationwide, just four minutes in Bucharest.
The lockers are a product of a complex international supply chain: structures are made in Ukraine and Austria, technology is sourced from China and Japan, while assembly takes place locally at the company’s easybox factory in Romania.
To optimize placement, Sameday uses an AI-powered tool that recommends new locker locations, ensuring that no customer is more than seven minutes away from a pickup point. The company pays an average monthly rent of €100–€150 per locker location.
Preparing for record Black Friday volumes
Sameday expects November 10, 2025, to be the busiest delivery day of the year, with more than 4 million parcels forecast to be delivered through the easybox network during the Black Friday campaign.
To meet demand, the company has expanded its courier team by over 60% compared to regular periods, reaching a total of 3,500 couriers. The number of vehicles moving parcels between hubs and agencies has surpassed 500, and warehouse operating hours have been extended to handle peak volumes.
Interestingly, none of the 400 trucks operating daily on Sameday routes are company-owned anymore. The firm has fully outsourced its transport fleet, selling off previously owned trucks and shifting exclusively to subcontracted logistics partners.
